Often worth mentioning the year of the car as quite a lot changes over the years. Facelift model changes around 2010 for example.

Okay, so I bit the bullet and forked out 拢75 for a genuine Ford sensor and it made absolutely no difference whatsoever , I've been told the fault could be anything from a dodgy connection in the wiring loom to an ECU fault, so have decided to cut our losses and have just part-exchanged the car against another one !!
Slackened off the tensioner and removed the bolts; pulley off. (I had replaced the belt and tensioner only 3000 miles ago so didn't change them again). Replaced the pulley wheel whilst the drive on the tensioner was tied back to the driveshaft. Got someone to stand on the brake pedal whilst torquing up the bolts. job done.

The diesel injection pump is connected to the camshaft by a timing belt. After 03-01-2008 Ford changed the chain which connects the crankshaft with the diesel injection pump for a so called wet belt.
Top. Re: Crankshaft Sensor Problem? amongst other things. by Altransit 禄 Tue Apr 22, 2014 10:56 pm. It could be that the engine "thinks" that it's overheating, so may just need a new temperature sensor. Another possibility is that the splines on the water pump are faulty, and it's not circulating the coolant properly.

The two-wire crank position sensor has a signal cord through which the crankshaft sensor sends its voltage to the ECU. Here is a picture from forscan. There are two things that seem dtange to me, first the crankshaft sensor is changing between synced, errod and synching. I would have thought it should show synched all the time when engine is running. But i get a good rpm signal all the time. Changed crankshaft and camshaft sensor but did not help.
